Wamego Police Department Encourages Community Support for Annual “Cops & Kids” Program

The Wamego Police Department has announced its participation in the annual “Cops & Kids” charitable initiative and is encouraging community members to consider contributing to this year’s effort.

Throughout the year, local Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodges collect donations to help sponsor children in need. On a designated day before Christmas, participating children meet with police officers and sheriff’s deputies at the Manhattan Walmart, where they are taken shopping with guidance from the officers. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office aims to sponsor 35 children this year.

How to Contribute:

Donation Drop-Off: Donations may be delivered to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office. Please mark them: Attn: Deputy Cook.

Check Donations: Checks should be made payable to Cops & Kids with “Pottawatomie County” listed in the memo line.

The Wamego Police Department and participating agencies extended their appreciation to the community for its continued support throughout the year.
