Fatal Crash on Interstate 70 in Wabaunsee County

A fatal accident occurred Sunday morning on Interstate 70 eastbound in Wabaunsee County, according to authorities.

The crash took place at approximately 11:29 a.m. near mile marker 330, about 0.2 miles east of McFarland Road.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol report investigated by Trooper K309, the incident began when a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-70 drifted into the median for unknown reasons. The vehicle struck a culvert and began to overturn.

A second vehicle entering the interstate from an entrance ramp then collided with the overturning vehicle.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details were immediately available.
